Wildfire near Custer burns 10 properties

A wildfire that’s grown to more than 11 square miles near the city of Custer in South Dakota’s Black Hills had not caused any injuries as of Saturday night but had damaged about 10 properties, the Custer County Sheriff’s Office said.

Rangers advance to state semis with overtime win

The Brookings Rangers boys varsity hockey team advanced to the state semifinals with a 3-2 overtime win over Sioux Falls West on Thursday evening in Sioux Falls.

The Rangers scored with their net empty, then won it in overtime.
