Bobcats come in 9th at State Golf Tournament

WATERTOWN – The Brookings girls’ golf team finished in ninth place at the Class AA State Tournament at Cattail Crossing Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.

The Bobcats had a score of 712 as a team. Aberdeen Central won the team title with a score of 603. O’Gorman came in second (626) and Mitchell came in third (634). Sioux Falls Lincoln finished in fourth (651) and Brandon Valley rounded out the top five (677).

Tafney Lunn was the top Bobcat at State and she tied for 22nd with a score of 168. She shot an 84 on both days. Josie Bertrand tied for 32nd with a 177 and she shot an 86 on Monday and a 91 on Tuesday.

Kamryn Streich came in 35th and she shot a 178, shooting a 92 on Monday and an 86 on Tuesday. Madeline Enderson tied for 153rd with a 192 and she shot an 89 on Monday and a 103 on Tuesday. Carmen Bertrand shot a 195 and came in 59th. She shot a 95 on Monday and a 100 on Tuesday. Audrey Andal rounded things out for the ‘Cats, coming in 74th. She shot a 113 on Monday and a 107 on Tuesday.

Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun won the tournament shooting an even-par 144. O’Gorman’s Ari Jacobs came in second (145) and Aberdeen Central’s Emma Dohrer came in third (147). Aberdeen Central’s Kyley Wirebaugh and O’Gorman’s Erin Hurd tied for fourth (149).
