Jackrabbit men’s golf ties for 11th in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio — the South Dakota State men’s golf team finished in a tie for 11th place at the Robert Kepler Invitational hosted by Ohio State Sunday.

The Jacks finished +4 as a team, tied with fellow Summit League member Kansas City. Minnesota posted the best team tally for all three rounds and finished -31 to win the title by nine shots over Ohio State.

Tyler Seeling was SDSU’s top finisher with a 2-under final scorecard to finish in a tie for 25th place. He was even par on Sunday with four birdies.

Ty Adkins tied for 44th place (+2). The junior posted steady 72-73-73 scores over three rounds with 12 non-par holes. Bryson Mercier tied for 53rd (+3), Jake Olson tied for 65th (+7) and Drew Teeter tied for 70th place (+8).

Minnesota’s Jack Crousore and Abeline Christian’s Gregorie Hoyeau tied with 9-under final tallies to share medalist honors.

SDSU heads to Iowa City to play in the Hawkeye Invitational April 20-21. It will be the final regular season even for the Jacks ahead of the Summit League Championships May 3-5.
