The annual Kaffee Klatch art show held at BHS will be on May 14 and feature the work from students who won awards at the state art show in April.

For State Visual Arts, BHS had 9 students participating in each of the 12 categories. We did not place as a team, but we did have a few students place in their respective categories and ended up 6th in the Class AA group.

Students and their categories/placings are below:

Ayden Hyde (senior) - 1st place 3rd sculpture, functional ceramics

John Hatton (senior) - 2nd place printmaking, 3rd place digital art

Paige Samuel (senior) - 3rd place 2d mixed media

Andrea Thompson (senior) - acrylic painting

Logan Griffith (senior) - crafts

Madeline McCullough (senior) - traditional cultural art, watercolor painting

Zakary Schulte (senior) - colored drawing

Rachel Malenke (senior) - photography

Emily Meyer (sophomore) - monochromatic drawing

John Hatton, Zakary Schulte and Rachel Malenke also qualified for and participated in the State Art Wars competition held the same day.

Aubrey Vanderbush and Shelby Meyer are BHS Visual Art Coaches.

Our annual BHS art show, Kaffee Klatch, will be held in the BHS Auxiliary Gym on May 14 from 5:30-8pm. Artworks from all BHS students, as well as the pieces from State Art will be on display for the community to come and see. There will be potted plants for sale as a collaboration of our Art Club and FFA groups — plants grown by our FFA students, and planters made in our art rooms. We will have buttons for sale designed by our Art Club students as well. All money from sales go back into our Art Club to be used for supplies, our annual Raku field trip — and other art related activities.
