Boys Varsity
The Brookings boys varsity team split a pair of league games over the weekend.
Brookings 9, Sioux Center 0
It was all Rangers on Saturday night in Sioux Center as Brookings outshot the homesteading Storm 60-5.
Talon Hyde found the net twice, as did Jason Ready while Carson Kludt, Cannon Friedrich, Parker Nielsen, Cooper Schneider and Mason Diers all scored as well.
Ryder Anderson turned away all the Sioux Center shots to earn the shutout in net.
Sioux Falls West 5, Brookings 2
The Rangers offense sputtered on Friday night in Sioux Falls.
Hyde had both Brookings goals — the first off feds from Mauer Bartley and Nolan Krogman, the later on the power play with assists to Diers and Jay Harris.
But that was all the Rangers could muster and the Flyers scored the game’s final four goals.
Girls Varsity
The Rangers girls swept three games in SDAHA play over the weekend.
Brookings 3, Watertown 1
The Rangers scored a pair of goals in the third to earn a Friday night win.
Kinzey Grendler, Julissa Peterson and Miyah Foerster found twine for Brookings. Credit assists to Sawyer Triplett and Shauna Pederson.
Rorii Quam was stellar in net for Brookings, stopping 19 shots in the win.
Brookings 5, Sioux Center 3
Triplett scored a pair and Foerster, Peterson and Grace DeVries also found the net as the Rangers held off the Storm.
Quam and Avery Dentlinger split time in net.
Brookings 4, Sioux Center 2
Peterson, DeVries, Jordyn Anderson and Foerster all scored for the Rangers. Credit assists to Pederson, Triplett, Khloe Ziegeldorf, DeVries, Anna Rasmussen and Grendler.
Quam went the distance, making 20 saves to earn the win.
Girls 14U
Sioux Center 1, Brookings 0 (OT)
Brookings outshot the Storm 29-9 but could not find the net in the overtime loss.
Ava Vaughn took a shutout into overtime in the losing cause.
Bantam A
Brookings 17, Mitchell 0
The Rangers throttled the Marlins at home on Friday night, outshooting Mitchell 55-2.
Thor Zell scored six times, while Kallen Serfling added five, Owen Rounds had a hat trick and Graham Gerlach had a goal and an assist. Liam Heiberger added a goal and an assist, Branch Otteson had a pair of helpers and Oliver Ahmann also scored for the Rangers, who moved to 4-0 in league play.
Brayden Brintnall made both saves to earn a shutout.
Bantam B
Brookings 8, Sioux Center 2
It was all Rangers early Sunday morning in Sioux Center. Myles Anderson had a hat trick while Blaine Zweber scored twice and Jacob Myhre and Daniel Howey scored for Brookings.
Credit assists to goalie Isaac Haufschild, Gavin Zweibahmer with a pair, Coy Friedrich, Adrian Almhjeld, Zweber and Jackson Hahn.
Haufschild and Porter Vanderbush split time in goal for the Rangers, who stayed atop the SDAHA league standings with the win.
Pee Wee A
The Rangers skated to two wins, and two losses against some strong competition at a tournament in Omaha.
The Rangers fell 5-1 to a team from Nebraska, won 3-1 over a squad from Colorado Springs, beat the Omaha Jr. Mavericks 2-0 and then lost to the original Nebraska team 3-2.

The Rangers split a pair with visiting Aberdeen.
Aberdeen 7, Brookings 5
Avery Swisher had a hat trick for Brookings while Graham Itterman and Xander Reeser also scored. Credit an assist to Otto Hasselhorst. Sarantis Theodosopoulos and Henry Dangel split time in goal.
Brookings 5, Aberdeen 3
The Rangers exploded for four goals in the third to earn the split.
Swisher again had a hat trick, while Itterman and Reeser also scored and Evan Rounds had an assist. Theodosopoulos and Dangel again split time in goal.
