Rangers hit stretch run with busy weekend

Boys Varsity
The varsity boys Rangers split three games over the weekend, going 1-1-1.

Sioux Falls Flyers West 4, Brookings 1
The Rangers fell at home Friday night despite outshooting the visitors 47-20.

Talon Hyde had the lone goal for Brookings, assisted by Nolan Krogman and Jackson Heller.
Neil Trygstad was in goal for the Rangers, stopping 14 shots.

Brookings 11, Huron 0
The Rangers got back in the win column with a blowout of Huron at Bergman Arena.

Brookings had nine different players find the net in the win, led by Carson Kludt and Jack Lovseth, who each scored twice.

Give single goals to Mauer Bartley, Krogman, Hyde, Heller, Cade Zweber, Jay Harris and Cooper Schneider.
Mason Diers earned a playmaker with three assists, as did Kludt.

Bartley and Hyde chipped in two apples each. Credit single assists to Zweber, Krogman, Harris, Parker Nielsen, Cannon Friedrich, Ethan Foerster and Maxten Jensen.

Ryder Anderson stopped all nine shots he saw to earn the shutout in net.

Brookings 1, Yankton 1
The Rangers and the Bucks skated to a 1-all tie on Sunday.

Nielsen had the lone goal for the Rangers in the third period, assisted by Zweber.

Trygstad was back in goal, making 26 saves as the Rangers outshot Yankton 43-27.

Girls Varsity
The Rangers got another win in league play over the weekend.

Brookings 2, Aberdeen 0
Kinzey Grendler and Anna Rasmussen scored for Brookings and Miyah Foerster had an assist in the win.

Rorii Quam earned the shutout in goal, stopping all 28 shots she saw.

Junior Varsity
Brookings JV 2 6, Huron 1
Tryston Hostler, Lucas Hovelson, Un-Hyeng Keay (2) Colt VanMaanen and Grant Horn all scored for the Rangers in a road win. Credit assist to VanMaanen, Maxx Anderson, Horn, Beau Luvaas and Hovelson.
Paxtyn Pottorff was in net for

Brookings, stopping 28 of 29 shots to earn the win.

Beau Luvaas scored from the blue line to earn the home win.

Keay had the other Rangers goal.

Credit assists to Ashton Baker and Maxx Anderson on the game-winner.
Pottorff went the distance in net, making 23 saves in the victory.

Sioux Falls West 2, Brookings JV 1 1 (OT)
The JV1 Rangers fell at home on Friday in overtime.

Ethan Foerster had the lone goal for Brookings, assisted by Connor Buckley and Andrew Haufschild.
Ryder Anderson made 27 saves in the loss.

Brookings JV 1 7, Huron 1
Cooper Schneider had a hat trick and Foerster, Ty Harris, Buckley and Maxten Jensen chipped in goals in the Rangers win.

Matthew Bothe made 17 saves in net.

Yankton 7, Brookings JV 1 6 (OT)
The Rangers scored the last four goals of regulation to force overtime, but then lost in the extra session.
Cody Jacobson, Jameson Hunter, Maxten Jensen, Maverick Bortnem, Schneider and Haufschild scored for Brookings.

Bothe made 27 saves in net.

Girls JV
Brookings 7, Yankton 0
Audrey Andal, Khloe Ziegeldorf and Brooke Kruse scored twice and Emily Meyer added a goal in the Rangers win. Lorelei Koch and Kruse had two assists each, and Jordyn Anderson, Jordyn Ballis and Beatrix Hovey-Stubbles each had helpers.

Avery Dentlinger stopped 13 pucks to earn the shutout win.

U14 Girls
Brookings 3, Yankton 2
Brooklyn Nelson, Jordyn Ballis and Kahlei Foerster scored in the win.
Ballis, Nelson, Andal and Kruse had assists.

Ava Vaughn made 10 stops in goal.

Brookings 4, Aberdeen 1
Kahlei Foerster, Kinley Foerster, Kruse and Andal all scored in the Rangers win. Kahlei Foerster and Hovey-Stubbles had assists.

Vaughn made 18 stops in the victory.

Bantam A
The Rangers stayed atop the SDAHA standings with two wins and a tie over the weekend.

Brookings 14, Huron 0
Weston Diers and Graham Gerlach had hat tricks while Tegan Jensen and Oliver Ahmann scored twice.
Thor Zell, Liam Heiberger, Kallen Serfling and Owen Rounds also scored for Brookings.

Warner Carroll made all four saves he needed to in the shutout.

Brookings 2, Aberdeen 2 (OT)
The Cougars scored with half a second left on the clock to steal a point from the Rangers.

Rounds and Ahmann scored for the Rangers, with Zell, Jasper Pitts and Rounds credited with assists.
Brayden Brintnall made 7 saves between the pipes.

Brookings 9, Yankton 1
Serfling and Jensen had hat tricks, Rounds added two goals and Gerlach scored for the Rangers.

Zell, Ahmann and Jensen had two assists each. Credit solo helpers to Diers, Heiberger, Serfling, Pitts, Rounds and Branch Otteson.
Carroll was in goal as Brookings outshot the Miracle 60-3.

Brookings 3, Aberdeen 1
The slow-starting Rangers outlasted the Cougars.

Myles Anderson scored twice and Jacob Myhre buried a breakaway off a feed from Daniel Howey to complete the comeback for Brookings.

Isaac Haufschild made 16 stops in goal to earn the win.

Pee Wee A
The Pee Wee A Rangers swept a pair at Rushmore to stay atop the league table.

Kaden Ziegeldorf had a hat trick, Sutton Jensen scored twice and Max Harris also scored in the Brookings win.

Credit assists to Finn Konechne (3), Jensen (2) and Joey Francisco.
Nash Billings made 8 saves in the win.

The Rangers easily won the rematch on Sunday, outshooting the team from Rapid 42-6.

Ryker Schumacher scored five times to lead Brookings, with Ziegeldorf and Konechne each adding goals.

Elliott Ahmann had a playmaker for the Rangers and Hendrix Schmeichel and Konechne added assists.

Billings stopped all six shots he saw to earn the shutout.

Avery Swisher had the lone goal for the Rangers, assisted by Otto Haselhorst.

Sarantis Theodosopoulos made 14 saves in goal.
