Rangers feature strong showings on the road

Boys Varsity
Brookings 7, Oahe 0
The Varsity Rangers shut out the team from the Pierre area at home.
Cade Zweber had two goals and an assist, as did Mason Diers to lead the Rangers. Parker Nielsen chipped in a goal and two apples.
Credit the other Rangers goals to Jay Harris and Cannon Friedrich. Talon Hyde had a pair of assists, with single helpers going to Atwood Ahmann and Waylon Carroll.
Neil Trygstad turned away 11 shots to earn the shutout between the pipes.
Boys JV 1
Brookings 3, Oahe 1
The Rangers topped the Capitals at home.
Rhys Heiberger, Maxten Jensen and Cooper Schneider scored for the Rangers. Credit assists to Ethan Foerster, Maverick Bortnem, Schneider and Jason Ready.
Matthew Bothe stopped 10 of 11 shots in net.
Girls Varsity
Brookings 4, Oahe 2
Kinzey Grendler scored twice and Miyah Foerster had a playmaker to lead Brookings past the Capitals.
Sawyer Triplett and Grace DeVries also scored for the Rangers. Credit assist to Julissa Peterson, DeVries and Emily Meyer.
Rorii Quam stopped 26 shots to earn the victory.
Girls JV
Brookings 10, Oahe 1
Khloe Ziegeldorf had a hat trick, Jordyn Ballis scored twice and the Rangers JV girls thumped Pierre.
Beatrix Hovey-Stubbles also scored twice for Brookings, with Kahlei Foerster, Kennedy Hanson and Lorelei Koch also scoring.
Avery Dentlinger was in goal for the Rangers
Bantam A
The Bantam A Rangers skated to a 3-1 record at a strong tournament in Fargo, just missing championship play.
Brookings beat Fargo 7-0 and Fremont by an identical score to open pool play. They then dropped a tight 2-1 game to Eden Prairie to miss the championship round.
The Rangers bounced back on Sunday to earn a 6-1 win over White Bear Lake.
Bantam B
The Bantam B Rangers also just missed championship play in the Fargo B division.
The Rangers defeated Fargo 6-3 and then tied Marshall 4-4 in comeback fashion, rallying from 3-0 down. Brookings then went for a shot at the finals in a game against Monticello, ultimately falling 5-3 with two empty netters.
The Bantam B Rangers fell 7-2 to Grand Forks Blue on Sunday.
14U Girls
The Brookings 14U girls got back to even in league play with a pair of 4-1 wins over the weekend.
Brookings 4, Yankton 1
Brooke Kruse scored two goals and had an assist, Kahlei Forseter had a goal and two assists and Audrey Andal added a goal and an assist for the homestanding Rangers.
Ava Vaughn stopped 11 of 12 shots in goal to earn the win.
Brookings 4, Huron 1
Kruse scored all four on the road to lead the Rangers past the All Stars.
Foerster and Andal chipped in an a pair of assists each.
Vaughn was again in net, making seven saves in the victory.

Pee Wee A
Brookings 18, Sioux Falls 0
The state-leading Pee Wee A team thumped Sioux Falls on the road.
Scoring for the Rangers were Sutton Jensen, who netted five, along with four by Ryker Schumacher, a hat trick for Elliott Ahmann and a pair from Finn Konechne.
Also scoring for Brookings was Cooper Hyde, Callon Fogelson, Kaden Ziegeldorf and Joey Francisco.
Hyde had four helpers for Brookings. Nash Billings earned the shutout in net.
Pee Wee B
Yankton 6, Brookings 5
The Pee Wee B Rangers mounted a valiant comeback after falling behind 3-1 taking a 5-4 lead deep in the third, only to fall on a shorthanded goal with 27 seconds to play.
Knox Frericks scored a pair to help Brookings get back in it. Avery Swisher added two and Xander Reeser also scored for Brookings.
Credit Nicholas Hanson, Bradley Cox, Graham Itterman and Maddox Chandler with assists.
Sarantis Theodosopoulos was in goal for the Rangers.
The Rangers Squirt A & B teams traveled to Grand Forks for tournament.
